influent asked: Thinking about going to Japan to teach for a year. Would you recommend it? How was that experience for you? Did it help you grow as a photographer?
I taught in South Korea for a year and loved the experience. During my stay, I traveled to Japan as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong. Osaka is one of my favorite cities in the world. There’s so much going on in Japan that it would make your head cave-in if you even knew a 1/10th of what was going on. Being in any new place has helped me grow as a photographer, walking around in places that you weren’t meant to go, seeing people you wouldn’t normally see. If you have the chance, do it.
