A law student from Japan, Narahara has won numerous photography prizes as well as being named Japan Photo Critics Society’s Photographer of the Year. His photos show an extreme subject in an isolated atmosphere; something very different from photos in the 50’s. Although I couldn’t read up much on Ikko, I found an unusual trend for a photographer this great. Hardly any of his photos are on the internet; and his books are for sale on Amazon for hundreds of dollars. His use of wide-angle lens are extraordinary and utilized in such a way that seems to be forgotten now. Truly a diamond in the ruff.
